Who is the Primary School Workshop for?
This workshop is for primary school students from junior infants to sixth class. The Rags to Riches workshop tailors it workshop depending on class and works with class sizes up to 35 students.

How long do workshops last for?
Each workshops lasts for two hours. The workshops run at a time which suits your school's timetable.
Workshop Content
The Rags to Riches workshop combines interactive activities such as arts and crafts, upcycling, drama and play to teach children all about the clothing industry. Topics covered include:
Who makes our clothes
How our clothes are made
Environmental and ethical issues surrounding by the clothing industry all along the supply chain from production to getting rid of unwanted clothes
Smart choices on how to reduce our environmental impact from upcycling, getting rid of our clothes and where to get new clothes
Learning Outcomes from the Workshops
Provide children with an overview of the of the clothing industry
Shift children's attitudes and behaviours towards how we acquire, use and dispose of our clothes to that of a more environmentally and socially friendly way
Teach children how their actions can help save our environment
Provide children with the basis upcycling skills
